Cloth for a Cause Grow Your Stash Bash

This is such a great idea, I just can't get over it! Please take the time to read a little bit about the company and their mission before you scroll down to enter the giveaway. :)

Parents decide to use cloth diapers for a multitude of reasons. Some choose cloth diapers because it is kinder to the environment. Others choose cloth diapers because of the long term cost savings. Some families, though, are truly struggling: they are part of the one in three families in the United States and Canada who have to choose between buying disposable diapers and buying food or paying rent. Regardless of why these families choose cloth, the start up costs can often be intimidating. For that 33%, the start up costs can be crippling and seemingly insurmountable. That's where Cloth for a Cause, Cloth Diaper Addicts, Viva Veltoro, and Leettle Baby... and the Build Your Stash Bash comes into play.
Cloth for a Cause is a brand new Canadian charity. We've been operating since 2011 with a simple mission: to help those 33% get their babies in diapers. In the year and a half that we've been open, Cloth for a Cause has expanded from one little chapter here in Prince George to fourteen stretching across Canada. We've helped nearly 150 families get their babies in cloth. Last month, Cloth for a Cause became a legal charity. Not only does that mean that our ability to help struggling families has grown, it also means that our need for assistance has grown! You can help by donating to Cloth for a Cause through our PayPal account (info@clothforacause.ca) or by sending a cloth diaper donation to one of our chapters. (If you live in Canada and are making a donation of $20 or greater, we can issue a tax receipt!) If you're near one of our local chapters, you can donate material goods and cash directly to the chapter. If you're not and you'd like to donate some diapers, our Nova Scotia chapter has a large need for services!

  1. As a person who is quite intimidated with all of the costs of child-rearing and life in general in the world we live in, I can sympathize with the feelings of those 33% who have to choose between diapering and feeding their families. Prior to my own research on cloth diapering, I had no idea that there is such a giving and supportive community out there offering support to families in their cloth diapering endeavors. I am most excited that charities like this exist, in a world where the news is filled with terrible stories. It reminds us that there are good, giving people out there. Cheers to this giveaway!

  3. I love the US package! I have not been cloth diapering very long but I am trying to CD a 2 yr old and a tiny 1 month old! I could definitely use all of these diapers and have heard awesome reviews about all of them!

  7. I'm trying to get started with cloth. I thought it might be cheaper than buying disposables and I know it's better for the environment. I do at least 1 load of laundry every day so that wasn't an issue. We've been at it 4 days now. Things I haven't figured out: if I'm putting the diaper together right and why some times she seems to wet right through. Things I have figured out: I probably need more than 3 diapers, I probably need more inserts, and a fleece liner is nice for dealing with #2 and keeps my baby girl drier. :) So any part of this package, other than the newborn diaper, would be great for my 14 month old. If I won it I would share the newborn diaper with another mom who might be hesitant to try cloth. :)

  8. I am just getting started with cloth. My husband and I are unemployed due to a lay-offs, and we have 2 small kids in diapers. I could no longer afford diapers. It truly was diaper or food. The US/Canada package is awesome and I hope I will it!

    1. Aw, I truly am sorry to hear that. My husband and I were laid off at the same time 2 months before we got married. I can't imagine having to take care of two kids as well going through that. Best of luck to you!

  9. I'm just stepping into the world of cloth. My family and I can't afford to buy all the diapers we'd need to switch from disposables, so I try and enter in every giveaway I can. I'm glad that the charities are being given some more publicity; up until a month ago I had no idea there were cloth charities! I guess I'm most excited for any of the diapers as we have only one right now. I've heard great things about Glow Bugs!
