Lil Threadz T-Shirt Review

Hey folks! I'm sad to say that today concludes the Birthday Extravaganza Giveaway Event here on Mixed Bag Mama. I hope you enjoyed the reviews and giveaways and best of luck in winning one of the awesome prizes! (P.s. If you're just joining us, be sure to head over to my Current Giveaways page to catch up on all of the other giveaways!)
Today's review and giveaway are sponsored by Lil Threadz on Etsy. As per their site, they specialize in "custom eco-friendly clothing for children and adults for a special occasion or everyday". They have cute and unique designs for girls and boys, so you are bound to find a shirt that fits your little one's personality!
So, how are Lil Threadz t-shirts eco-friendly, you might be wondering? Again, according to their website, "lil threadz is truly concerned about what types of dyes and chemicals linger on the clothes we place on our kids each day. Most of the shirts are super soft, eco-heather which is a uniquely imperfect blend of organic cotton, recycled polyester, and naturally occurring rayon." They also use a non-toxic adhesive to adhere the appliques to the shirts before sewing them on as well.
I will totally vouch for the shirt being super soft. That was one of the first things I noticed when we received ours, actually. I wish more shirts were made out of that material because I would be all over it!

I decided to go with the design above on white in a 3T. I think I got myself confused, but their website states that the shirts can shrink up to one size even though the t-shirts run true to size. (Maybe they were referencing the long sleeve shirts. Guess that's what I get for not asking, huh?!) So, since you never know how one shirt is going to fit from one brand to another until you try one, I decided to play it safe and that's why I got the 3T. Now that it is here, washed, and dried, I'm kind of wishing I would have went with the 2T. But, like my mom said, at least she will have room to move around. Which is a good thing because...

I got this shirt specifically for Myka to wear at her birthday party. I really liked it on the gray it is pictured in on Lil Threadz website, but I thought the white would go better with the rest of her "outfit"...Which is a yellow and white tutu with yellow feathers I made to look like a chicken. :) Speaking of colors, they have plenty to choose from in both the short and long sleeve shirts. Or, if you're not looking for something that's as customized, they do offer shirts that are just as adorable and ready to ship!

As with any toddler, we had a hard time getting a good picture of her with her shirt on. (It probably didn't help that she didn't have a nap before the party!) I was glad I ended up getting the next size up because it was loose fitting on her and looked comfy. Plus, that means that she'll be able to wear it for awhile! (Although I'm not sure how much use she'll get out of it since we live in Indiana again and it actually gets cold here in the winter! lol) We actually managed to keep it clean for most of the day too!
The only "bad" thing I noticed about this shirt is that a few small threads were poking up from around the lettering after washing. However, I'm going to blame that on myself because I forgot to turn it inside out as they suggest for washing on their website.
