Recently I’ve read various blog posts and reviews/giveaways for cloth wipe solutions/cloth wipes. These are great and I’m not trying to take away credit from those companies who make them or put them down in any way. However, what if you don’t feel like or can’t spend the extra money on them? Here is MY solution.
Baby washcloths. I know what you’re thinking. “But Alicia, you still have to BUY those too!” Yes, but if you go to stores, such as TJ Maxx, you can find big bundles of them for a pretty cheap price. Plus you get a lot more for your money! Sure, they might not be in cute prints, but they still get the job done. Also, if you’re lucky, you will likely get some baby washcloths as baby shower gifts, so that cuts out cost completely!
I use these all the time for wet diapers. Admittedly, I still use my homemade baby wipes for number 2’s, but if you’re braver than me you can use these washcloths for those as well. We found out quickly how sensitive my daughter was to store bought wipes and our system of washcloths and homemade wipes has helped IMMENSELY in preventing diaper rash!
*In case you’re wondering, I do not use the same washcloths to actually bathe my daughter with. ;)
As you can see, I received a TON of these as gifts. I’m guessing there are at least 20-30 in this pile. More than I’ll ever need, but I’m so glad we got them now!
