Hey folks! I think most of us can agree that babies don't really need toys...But as parents, we can't really help ourselves sometimes, can we? So, if we're going to buy baby toys, we may as well invest in high-quality, durable, engaging ones, right? That's why I love Lamaze toys from Tomy so much! We recently had the chance to try out two cute items of theirs through BuyBuyBaby.com: Munching Max and the High Contrast Foot Finders set.
Munching Max
*As
the parent, I absolutely love this little guy! We have a similar
vibrating pull toy from Lamaze (the Flutterbug)
from when Myka was a baby, so I was excited to share this one with
Ripley as well. However, so far Ripley has been more interested in
random non-toy items and older sister's toys. Her current faves are
an oversized cardboard tag from big sister's Super Undies and a mini
plastic shovel and spoon. So there's that...
*Ripley
also seems a bit put off by the vibrating/shaking nut. She kind of
squints her eyes like she's afraid it's going to slap her in the face
or something. However, Myka, who is almost 4, loves playing with
Munching Max.
*Ripley
does like trying to “eat him” when she has the chance. (i.e. He's
not shaking or Myka isn't taking him away from her.)
*I
like the crinkly feet, softness, and eye-catching colors and
patterns.
*As
with our other Lamaze toy, it seems very well-made and durable.
*One
of my other favorite features is the hook so you can take Munching
Max with you on the go. We have the Flutterbug on her carseat right
now and she enjoys it, but I think I might switch it out soon with
this toy and see what happens. ;)
*Even
though these are listed as being for children birth through 24
months, I would say these are best for babies under 6 months old.
Ripley is 7 months and really wasn't interested in them much, to be
honest. But, she found her feet a few months ago and is on the verge
of crawling so I wasn't surprised she kicked these off easily.
Realistically, they're best for non-mobile babies, in my opinion.
*I
like the bright colors and attention grabbing patterns.
*These
are nice and soft for baby feet. They fit fine on my 7 month old, so
you shouldn't have to worry about them digging in/leaving marks.
*I
like the crinkly butterfly, but wish the rattling ladybug were a bit
louder. I know there's not much room inside for stuff to rattle
around, but it's not very noticeable/hard to hear.
*The
Foot Finders would make a nice baby shower gift.
*If
your child has older siblings, you can use them as little hand
puppets as well. ;)

I had these with all of my babies- they are the BEST! One of my twin toddlers still carries around her little "tag" lion.
