When I was putting together the Mommy's Little Miracle event it was important to me to include products that showed that Mommy's Obsessions not only understands that not every mom will breastfeed, but that we support it as well. When it comes to things like bouncers, swings, rockers, and nappers, there are an abundance of brands and options available to parents. So how do you choose? When it comes to diapers, as a parent you have an abundance of options. You start with making the conscious decision to use cloth or disposable. Diapers are an essential when it comes to raising a baby, because lets face it, your baby can't be diaperless! One of my biggest pet peeves when it came to diapering Little Mister is that the dirty diaper - whether it be cloth or disposable, ALWAYS stunk up the diaper pail, which in turn stunk up the room! Working is for the Birds

            We finally got some VERY good news last week that my husband got the job we've been anxiously waiting to hear for at least a month now. Good thing too because it's only been a little over a week and I'm already not digging this whole work thing.
            I'm as wishy-washy as Charlie Brown sometimes and I'll be the first person to admit it. (It's a woman's prerogative to change her mind, right?) I was (mostly) excited to be going back to work since I'm always complaining about how I feel bad that I don't contribute financially to our little family and I was also looking forward to a much needed break from Myka. Well, like I said, it's only been a little over a week since I started my new job and I already think work is for the birds.
            The job itself isn't too bad...other than the fact that they expect you to get way more accomplished than is physically possible for one person for very little pay. I'll leave it at that. We're not supposed to talk about work outside of work anyways. (Or the residents, at least.) I joked with someone the other day that it's like Vegas: What happens at undisclosed company stays at undisclosed company. lol But, without going into too much detail, I can't stand the attitudes of some of the other employees. Enough so that I will not sit idly by and don't have plans on staying for long.
            Other than that, I've been and am scheduled to be working more than I thought/was told I would be at first. While I do get to spend time with Myka in the evenings, everything just feels rushed now. Especially if I have "chores" to do, like dishes, laundry, etc. I just had 2 days off in a row and still didn't get everything accomplished that I had hoped to.
            While it's nice not being uneasy while I'm at work worrying about Myka since she either stays with my mom or one of my aunts, I'd still rather be home with her...Even if she does drive me nuts sometimes. With my husband's new job, I will (thankfully) be able to afford to stay home with her still AND we won't be just scraping by like we were before.
            I'd also just like to say that I hope none of you working moms out there think I'm bashing you. Every family has different financial circumstances and feelings towards working vs. staying at home. There is no right or wrong when it comes to whatever you decide. In our case, John and I decided not long after Myka was born that we would prefer one of us (whoever makes less money, which is always me, of course) to stay home with our kids if we are able. That's just what feels right for us.

One item for Baby #2 that has been on my list since before we conceived, was a Blooming Bath. When I first learned of the Blooming Bath I immediately fell in love with it. Not only is it adorable, but it looked so much more comfortable for baby than those stiff plastic bath tubs! When I finally saw it in stores, my love only deepened and I knew that this was a must have baby product for when we had our second little one.

Aside from the bath being the plushest that I have seen yet, I really love the fact that rather than letting it sit out and air dry, you simply throw it into your dryer after the baby is done using it! I remember from Little Misters bath tub that anytime water wouldn't completely drain from it, it would mildew and I just thought it was the grossest thing. When it comes time to shop for clothing for your baby or child, typically the first thing that parents think about its 1) Is it expensive and 2) Is it quality. There are hundreds, if not thousands of companies and small businesses who specialize in children's clothing, but one company that always sticks out in my mind when I think of quality and affordability is Gymboree! When I found out that I was having another little boy I was ecstatic that I wouldn't have to run out and purchase a whole new wardrobe for him having saved majority of Little Misters clothing, but I did want to get a few new outfits that were just his, so I visited the Gymboree website and started building a shopping cart! For just over $100 I was able to get 15 items (11 newborn or 0-3 month sizes, 3 items for Little Mister in sizes 3T or 4T, and a super cute blanket for Little Boy)! Talk about getting "bang for your buck"!
